Press Release
In a letter for public release, Ken Burton Jr. writes:
District 67 is losing a key voice in the Florida House of Representatives with the departure of the Honorable Ron Reagan due to term limitations. Ron represented Manatee County with an old fashioned "public servant" attitude and never waivered in his commitment to his community.
I am proud to say that we can look to another young Manatee County citizen to continue the tradition of excellence in this office. Greg Steube embodies the true patriot spirit. He was reared in Manatee County schools, graduated from the University of Florida and the UF Law School - accumulating a plethora of honors and awards along the way, then served his country in the Army before returning here to begin his law practice.
Having started my career at 23 and then elected Tax Collector at the ripe old age of 30, I am delighted that Greg has prepared himself for a life of service to his community and wants to hit the ground running. Working with three state agencies that comprise 90% of my Office's responsibilities, I know first-hand some of the issues that await him in Tallahassee. It will be great to have an ally in the State Capital. I believe we can count on a strong voice that will truly represent our family values, fiscal accountability and culture of life.
I enthusiastically endorse Greg Steube for the Florida House of Representatives District 67 seat.
Sincerely,
Ken Burton Jr.
Manatee County Tax Collector
