Local Veterans' Advocate Endorses Greg Steube for District 67 Seat

Press Release

Retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Lee F. Kichen said, "Greg Steube's candidacy is a great thing for the veterans, the military retirees and the families living in District 67. He clearly deserves our support because he will be an ardent advocate for us in Tallahassee. I like everything about his military background; it shouts Duty, Honor and Country. He enlisted after 9-11 and served as an Infantry soldier and later graduated from Officer Candidate School. After graduating on the Commandant's list at Infantry Officer Basic Course and sustaining an injury in Ranger School, Greg decided to use his skills as an attorney, and continue serving the Army as a Judge Advocate General Corps officer. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, he served as the Chief of Detainee Operations to the Commanding General of the 25th Infantry Division in Iraq".

Kichen, who is now a veterans' advocate for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, former Veterans Service Officer for Sarasota County and former President of the Sarasota County Veterans Commission stated, "Greg is a young man of character. He didn't have to serve. Nevertheless, his sense of duty compelled him to serve when his country needed him. He delayed his career as an attorney to be a soldier. That decision epitomizes self-less service, which is a rare commodity in today's political arena."
